The rest of the Summer

And the rest of the summer...
We had Emma a little longer and loved having her down with us.  We played games
 Who's the Dalmuti now?
 Celebrated Sam's birthday
And made some fun Independence day cookies before she had to leave again.

We got toilet papered
And Max went to scout camp
 Joe became legal!
Don't worry-he didn't just get Hostess cupcakes for his birthday.  I also made him this cool death by chocolate cake which was super yummy!
 And we celebrated Angus's birthday!

 And that's all folks!
Now it's time to get back to school!
Max 7th, Joe 10th
Sam 13th- College- for this one!  In the summer they made all the freshman come down and do an overnighter.  They showed them around campus and had talks and presentations.  They set them up with a councilor that talked to them about what they wanted to major in and then set them up with the classes and the schedules they would need to keep for the years ahead to get that degree.  They also had Sam do some testing and got him enrolled with the honors college.  He skipped ahead in math and went to the honors Chemistry.

Emma was finishing up her 16th year- 13 hours away, so no picture of her!
They are all getting so big!!

End of School

The end of school is always a rush of projects and papers that you have to wonder if they couldn't have been done at a different time.
Battering Ram!  That cost a pretty penny!

Samuel also competed in one more track meet, representing the state of New Mexico.  Carl Lewis showed up and Samuel got to shake hands with him.  He got many looks by recruiters, all who wished him good luck after they realized he had graduated a little while ago.  If we had only known what we do now, last year!

Sam just showed off his flipping as the New Mexico team walked by fans.  Very impressive!
He got his farthest jump ever in the triple jump this meet!
He had no idea who Carl Lewis was.  We had to tell him and make him go down and shake hands.  Kids these days!  ha ha!

 We had band concerts
And banquets.   Here is the track records board that isn't updated with Sam's latest records, but at least his name is on there!  Joseph had a tennis banquet but none of us could go.  Sam had to drive him to it.  So sad!  I loved those tennis coaches!
Robert actually got braces on his lower teeth.  That's all the Army was willing to fix.  They hurt him a  lot and he was glad to get them off in 6 months.
And we celebrated Max's 13th birthday with the Deacon's quorum.

 Happy Birthday Buddy Max!!

Run, throw, jump, hit!

Spring is a pretty awesome season!  This year it was a little bittersweet.  I was freaking out about being down yet another child!  Samuel's time with us was quickly coming to a close.  All our boys are active in the Spring and I love watching them.  I called my mother-in-law one time and said how sorry I was that she had to sit there and watch a baseball game, because everyone knows how horribly boring baseball games are!  And she said, "sorry for you.  You have to sit there and watch a track meet go on for hours!"  Ha ha, I guess I got told!  I love track.  I love watching every race!  I haven't been a regular attendant at the field part, expect high jump until this year.  Personally I just can't think of better entertainment!  And these guys and their parents and our coaches!  Seriously, they are the best!

Unless you are talking Tennis and then these guys and these coaches are amazing!  Seriously, I don't care if Joseph never wants to do tennis again, he's doing it, because of the coaches!

 Run
 Jump
 Run
 Jump
 Hit
(get massaged by the coaches wife who is a physical therapist!)
 Hit
 hit
 hit
 Jump
 Jump
 RUN!
 Throw!

 Throw

 Throw

Max started club track late, but he loved, loved throwing everything!  Next year we will start on time, and next year he has to run something as well!- 'cause mama said so!

The rest of Fall

Ok, so it might be all about the sports, but we did do a few other things this fall!
We went to the state fair!  Always good fun, greasy food and hot at the State Fair!

Mom and Dad sent a postcard from their travels and Max colored it.
We watched conference and built structures
We went to see the Balloon festival again.  This time with Grandma.  Grandpa was sick!

I decided to learn once in for all that I am indeed allergic to Penicillin.  Somehow I got it in me while working and became a patient as I got huge hives and then started sweating profusely and then almost fainted.  We tried oral Benadryl first, but when the hives continued to spread I had to check in.
We made a Pyramid including chambers and artifacts and camels and alligators!
I worked on Halloween.  The only one to go out was Max.  Sad I missed most likely his last time!
Angus took up weight lifting.  He mostly does it with his mouth.  He has a very strong neck!
I broke my toe!  Ok, I have no idea if it was actually broke.  I never went in.  It sure looked it and felt it though!
